Our Story
I have always had a burning desire to help positively impact the lives of people. It all started when I was a little boy and my dad said something to me that is still imprinted on my brain to this day and drives me to do what I do. He said ‘When your times up you won’t be remembered by what you have or what you accomplished. But the impact you made on the lives of other people. Be the positive impact people deserve’.
This led me to a career in Healthcare, choosing Osteopathy but incorporating learnings from all different professions to give myself the best chance of helping people in as many ways as I can. Having moved straight into a full-time role post university,
I quickly learned that my core beliefs, my values and my mission was strictly that. My own. Money seemed to be the biggest driver in delivering health outcomes and only those lucky enough to have it would benefit. Loyalty wasn’t rewarded but expected. The idea of quantity always mattered more than quality of treatment. But most frustratingly, never being given the chance to understand the person behind the injury. Understanding how their pain and injury impacted them was never prioritised to a level significant enough that we could influence it for the better. It was all superficial. That seemed to be the standard.

I decided to become the change I wanted to see in healthcare and with that Beyond Movement, formerly known as Christian Azzopardi Osteopathy was born. We had the vision that we would be the standard bearers in memorable patient-cantered care. Our mission to provide the best patient experiences and give the best patient outcomes. The way the business operated would be based on our values and this would never be replaced by financial gain as a driver for doing what I do. With this, comes obstacles. I was a small fish in a big pond trying to find my footing and spready my own story. Working long hours with minimal financial gain from it never deterred me. I knew something bigger was being built, something I knew the community deserved. Day by day, Week by week, Patient by patient, the vision I had of what Healthcare should be about was coming to fruition. The outcomes I was helping my patients achieve and continue to achieve even beyond their injury were phenomenal and something I never would have been able to do if I didn’t take the chance and be the change I wanted to see.
